About Rooted

Rooted is a short, story-driven tree simulator set in an illustrated woodland, with a golden oak and approaching woodsman animated within the sunset scene. You are the oak, the man carries an axe, and your inner monologue has plenty of plans that biology cannot deliver in time. Grow a branch, raise a root, send a fungal message, or hire a woodpecker: choose one of three ideas in each of seven chapters and collect all 21 plans in your field notes. This bittersweet woodland tragicomedy takes about 7–12 minutes per playthrough. There are no movement controls, and the story advances at your reading pace.
